Warm apple with almond butter

Here’s an easy and very morish apple dish with only 4 ingredients that can serve as breakfast and as a snack. It’s a firm favourite in my house, especially in these dark and cold months. It’s very comforting! So why not give this warm apple with almond butter recipe a go?

Apples are beneficial for your gut and you can still buy local – or at least UK-grown – apples in the shop. This recipe pairs fat (coconut oil and almond butter) with fiber (apples and almond butter) and protein (almond butter). I use the fat-fiber-protein formula as that’s the best way to:

  • keep you feeling satisfied for longer
  • avoid those energy-sapping and inflammatory blood sugar spikes
  • and cinnamon also helps to lower blood sugar!
